The Inditex Chair of Spanish Language and Literature in Bangladesh launched its first initiative aimed at promoting audiovisual creativity and the use of Spanish through film in 2025: the Short Film Festival. The initiative was designed to provide students with a platform to express their ideas and creativity through filmmaking, while strengthening both their academic and artistic development.
The call for submissions was announced during the final week of November, with 5 February 2026 established as the submission deadline. The awards ceremony was subsequently held on Thursday, 30 April 2026.
On that occasion, around 70 students gathered to watch the screening of nine short films, each distinguished by its own perspective, style, and narrative, reflecting the diversity and quality of the students' work.
Beyond showcasing these projects, the festival created a valuable opportunity for exchange, learning, and recognition among all participants. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates to each team and awards to the most outstanding productions.
The Second Short Film Competition and Festival has thus established itself as a flagship initiative of the Inditex Chair, fostering creativity, teamwork, and students’ artistic development while reaffirming the Chair’s commitment to holistic education and cultural innovation.
